Essex Region MPPs Take on New Roles in Provincial Government

ESSEX COUNTY – Two Members of Provincial Parliament from the Essex region, Anthony Leardi and Trevor Jones, have been appointed to new roles within the provincial government.

Anthony Leardi, MPP for the riding of Essex, has been named Deputy House Whip. In this role, Mr. Leardi will play a crucial part in maintaining order and decorum within the legislative chamber, ensuring the efficient operation of the House, and supporting the Government Whip in their duties.

“I am pleased to report this new role to the taxpayers in the Riding of Essex,” said MPP Leardi. “I will continue working to deliver the skilled trades jobs, infrastructure and housing investments our region needs.”

Trevor Jones, MPP for the riding of Chatham-Kent – Leamington, has been appointed Deputy Government House Leader. In this capacity, MPP Jones will assist in managing legislative proceedings, coordinating government initiatives, and facilitating communication between members of the legislature.

In this capacity, I am committed to ensuring the smooth operation of our legislature, and effectively communicating the government’s initiatives. Together, we will continue to serve all constituents and advance the well-being of Ontario.” Said MPP Trevor Jones, Chatham-Kent-Leamington.

Both MPP Leardi and MPP Jones will continue in their roles as Parliamentary Assistants to the Minister of Mines and the Minister of Agriculture, respectively. Both MPPs were elected in the 2022 Provincial Election.
